Keep your eyes peeled for an email from Alaska Airlines this morning — we just received an email from Alaska Airlines at 9am PST offering to convert wallet funds to miles at a cost of 1 cent per mile. This promotion is good until October 12 and is only valid on credits currently in your account, so you’ll need to act fast if you want to take advantage of it. The press release with full details, terms, and conditions can be found here.
So what’s the big deal?
If you aren’t familiar with Alaska MileagePlan, paying 1 cent per mile is a fantastic value for MileagePlan miles.
Even if you were to take advantage of Alaska’s 60% bonus to buy miles, the best value you could get is 1.72 cents per mile.
How do I take advantage of this offer?
I’m not sure if this email is targeted, but according to the press release, you can expect to receive one if you currently have a wallet balance. You can also log in via this direct link, which I pulled straight from the promotions page.
Here’s the email I received:
Upon navigating to the Alaska Airlines website through the email, I was brought to this page, where I could choose to convert my balance to miles in increments of 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%.
Turning $108.70 into 10,870 was a no-brainer, so I converted my full balance and was given immediate confirmation of the conversion.
Alaska MileagePlan is one of our favorite loyalty programs, and being able to convert credits to points at 1 cent is an outstanding value. I personally wasted no time making the conversion, even despite not having any travel plans currently in the works due to COVID-19.
